R.I.P Mariyam Crossley [13 Oct 2008|03:50pm]

I don't really know her, but she died in the car wreak this weekend at 3:45 p.m. One of my classmates were in the hospital, but they returned home, but didn't go to school. His friend was worried that the police will go charge against him. After that, he didn't go to school because of that, and he wasn't in my art class. I don't know him much, but I do feel sorry for him.

bored? [28 Apr 2006|10:30pm]

if you are ever bored, i would suggest coming to cottle strawberry field in conyers/stockbridge.

now if you don't know, it's a really cool strawberry field. you can pick your own berries or you can buy pre-picked ones. it costs $3.50 to pick a quart or $4.00 to buy a pre-picked quart. or you can pick a gallon bucket for $8 or buy a pre-picked one for $10. we furnish the containers, so you don't have to bring anything to keep your berries in. and you can eat berries while in the field! i'm telling you--- it's fun stuff.

it's open 8 am - 7 pm monday - saturday and 12 pm - 7 pm sundays.

it's located on east fairview (lorraine elementary is on this road). to get there, get on 138 (near lowe's) and go towards heritage high school. keep going, you'll pass the crossroads/chevron gas station and the 212/138 publix. continue straight until the four-way stop. this is east fairview. turn right, go a few miles, and come to the first four way stop. go straight, and a few seconds later you will see the field on your left.

hurry because it will be closing in early june. you can buy your mom some fresh berries that YOU picked just for her for mother's day. or just come out when you don't have anything better to do. it's fun!

Biofuel Expo
Heritage Highschool Front Parking lot
11AM - 1PM

I can't honestly say I've ever done anything for Earth Day, but there's supposed to be free food, and info on new fuels and you can go check up on some car models that run on biodiesel and ethanol, which is cool because apparently our fossil fuel is supposed to start drying up any day now. If you're heading up by HHS on Saturday, April 22- do yourself a favor and stop by the Expo. All the cool kids are doing it. :)

The HHS performance of Beauty and the Beast starts at 2:30 anyway,
so if you're planning on going to the performance you can always
run by the Expo before 1 PM.

Hi everyone. Thought I'd post this here in hopes of finding a missing dog. Even though this community is rather dead...

Zak George handles all the PetsMart training classes. I'm sure some of you have seen him and his dogs performing in the front of the store sometimes, he has two border collies. One of which is a frisbee champ, etc. Well early this morning, Wednesday, around 2am, one of Zak's border collies somehow got loose and jumped out of his van.

This happened at the Quick Trip next to Sonic. My husband was driving home from work and spotted him, but another car stopped and picked him up first. A red (or marroon) honda civic, female driver, heading towards walmart. The dog is a grey/white border collie named Supernova. If anyone knows the whereabouts, please comment or call petsmart! It would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Rockdale Citizen

Heritage High School teacher arrested
By Roger Barnes
Staff Reporter

CONYERS — A 35-year-old Heritage High School teacher was arrested Saturday night and faces several sexual misconduct charges for his alleged relationship with a 16-year-old student at Heritage High.
“At this moment, the teacher is in jail,” James Ginn, the school system’s spokesman, said on Monday. “(Monday), we had a substitute teacher in his class. (Today), we’ll have a substitute teacher in the class. The Sheriff’s Office will conduct a criminal investigation, and we’ll investigate the teacher’s professional conduct.”
Jonathan McCutchen of 925 Hillside Mill Drive in Grayson, a math teacher in his first year with the Rockdale County School System, was arrested late Saturday night and charged with interference with custody, enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual battery and sexual assault against a person in custody.
“The sexual battery charge involved an incident that occurred at the school,” Rockdale County Sheriff Jeff Wigington said.
He said he believes the alleged relationship between the teacher and student began some time around December.
Law enforcement officers became aware of the alleged relationship about 8 p.m. Saturday when a sheriff’s deputy was called to the site of a newly constructed home on Bordeaux Lane, which is in a subdivision off McDaniel Mill Road. According to the incident report, homebuilder Maurry Russell phoned the sheriff’s office when he noticed a suspicious car parked in the driveway of the unoccupied home.
According to the report, when Deputy David Wegemer arrived at the scene, he saw only McCutchen and Russell standing near the home. McCutchen told Wegemer that he was there “just looking to buy a house.”
As the home was searched, the 16-year-old girl was found sitting in the garage. Wegemer stated in his report that the victim told him the car belonged to her parents.
She also said McCutchen parked his car at Heritage High School and they drove to the house on Bordeaux Lane, Wegemer said.
“She denied any sexual activity,” he said.
McCutchen was arrested later that evening after the girl and her parents were questioned at the Sheriff’s Office.
McCutchen has been a teacher at Heritage for one year and is an assistant junior varsity boys’ soccer coach. He has taught for 12 years at schools in DeKalb and Walton counties. It is not known whether the girl is a student in his class.
“It’s a violation of the professional standards for a teacher and student to have that type of alleged relationship,” Ginn said. “We’ll conduct our own investigation.”
McCutchen is charged with sexual assault against a person in custody, which occurs when a person with supervisory authority takes advantage of someone under their care, said Myra Pearrell, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
McCutchen is also charged with sexual battery, which is “intentionally making physical contact with a person without the consent of that person,” Pearrell said.
Interference with custody involves taking a child away from someone who has custody of that child — in this case the girl’s parents, Pearrell said.
Rockdale County District Attorney Richard Read said if McCutchen is convicted on all charges, he could face up to 25 years in prison. As of presstime Monday, he was being held at the Rockdale County Jail on $26,000 bond.
